Galaxy DIY - Shoes and T-shirts

My gorgeous nieces came to stay with me over the school holidays. Usually when they come we go out on some sort of adventure but this time we decided to have a DIY day. So after lots of pintrest browsing we picked galaxy shoes and t-shirts. This was a great project for their ages (9 and 11). They (and me!) really enjoyed it and could do it however they wanted and the finished product looked great!

We didn't follow a specific tutorial but instead looked at a few and improvised from there. but Follow this link for a good tutorial.

Supplies:
Canvas shoes
Acrylic paints - we used navy blue, blue, pink, purple, white, silver and gold
Sponges
Small paint brush
Masking tape

The basics:
Mask off the sole, take out the laces and sponge on the paint. Start with the navy blue then play around with your colours. We sponged on the gold and silver last and then used a small paint brush to dot stars and make little twinkles.

After finishing our shoes we moved on to t-shirts! We masked off shapes using making tape and then used the same technique as for the shoes, wait for them to dry, take of the tape, iron and that's it!
